Make mine a fatpack

Now I am not one to usually buy fatpacks, even at sale times but sometimes.. just sometimes you really shouldn’t resist the lure of the fatpack. Right now there are two sales where fatpacks rule.

First up Boon, a hair store that is incredibly organized and varied. Every hairstyle ( except the very newest releases) is marked down to a super low 80L a FATPACK, not 80L a colour or colourpack but a fatpack so that’s 15 colours. While you are trying demos make sure to note if the style requires a special hairbase to create the look, it will be displayed at each end of the wall if it is. Don’t worry these are really low priced so I grabbed up almost every pack and don’t regret it at a second. This sale runs until 31st October so you have a little while to try demos and buy.

Next up is a skin sale at Akeruka with all packs reduced, basically you get the fatpack of options for a skin tone for the price of one makeup. I chose Blanca in medium tone, 16 makeup options are included on normal and cleavage skin versions. Men’s skins are also on sale though I didn’t explore how many options are included I know that I saw the sale signs visible on the walls as I peeked through at the (sexy)posters in the guys section.

Continuing with the fatpack theme  I used several of the colour options on the hud of the cute top I picked up at Ducknipple in the pictures above which show off some of the different makeup options included in the Blanca pack. Although my top is a hud option shirt you might as well call it a fatpack with so many colour choices for the top, plus optional tank top. Oh and the super cute skirt I’m wearing  that’s a recently released item at Sn@tch a place that ALWAYS sells fatpacks, just make sure you try demos first as I found that for this skirt it was better I went up a size.

These lips don’t lie

And what these lips are telling you is that there is some very hot photos and hot specials in this post. If you only want to know about the sale I will start there so you don’t need to scroll through the almost nude photos, they are tasteful almost nudes however and I am very excited about the outfit on display.

Losing my way but finding myself

Where are the days going? Sometimes they days, weeks and months slip by it feels like I am losing my balance. I can’t believe we are mid way through September and already at the final day of Penumbra Fashion Week. I wanted to leave you with another stunning piece of art from Trinity Yazimoto of Petit Chat.  Again using one of her unique artworks she elevates a dress of simple lines into fashion that speaks of art and life . This eyecatching hairstyle is Wren from Tameless, combining fine wisps with a bold flick of hair one one side and a buzz cut on the other certainly adds movement and drama. I chose to stick with a bold black but you should check out the full range of colour huds at Tameless.

For the other photos I used the region windlight settings at the fantastic Black Kite sim, but I swapped back to my usual Nam’s Optimal Skin and Prim to shoot a close up of this skin I picked up at Orage Creations. Sadly this is yet another store that is closing up after years of bringing clothing and skins to SL. My very first skin was from Orage Creations as a gift from a friend, so I wanted to return and buy one more before it closes up within the week. The discount for items is 50% and the newer skins , like I am wearing do have appliers included for Lolas, whilst appliers for Slink hands/ feet available for purchase separately along with Lush and Azz appliers.

Another thing about this picture above I like how this light managed to capture the sheen on the ribbon, yay for clothing with materials ability.

If you, like me , get frustrated at not being able to get into Collabor88 in the first 24 hours of it opening I have found that there is actually an advantage to waiting , other than less crowd and lag. By waiting a little longer you can ensure to see ALL of the items being released for that round, allowing you to shop for everything in one shopping trip. Now for me the advantage in this is that I don’t go and buy more stuff just because, oh look I saw that before and I really should get it . Far better that I do one trip , take my time, try demos, buy what I like and leave – well that’s my theory for now.

This month I had to go back once I had seen a blog picture featuring this dress from Teefy. It sparked ideas for using some of the fantastic gacha items from past Fantasy Gacha Carnival events.

Ode to a sale

Overwhelmed with EMO-tions

I have had such wonderfully exciting news, my application to join the EMO-tions Blogger group has been accepted. I am so happy I could dance !

So be prepared to see even more of the wonderful releases from EMO-tions as this store releases regularly and I am so inspired by the range of styles from modern casual looks to formal and elaborately dramatic styles. Catering to women, men and petites with both mesh and non-mesh hairstyles, EMO-tions really does have something for everyone in my opinion. Take a look at the hairstyle I am wearing today, Alex which was just released this weekend.

This fantastic casual ponytail is unisex, the pack includes a small and large size as well as alpha and a hud to let you select from the colours in the pack you choose. I love the loose tendrils partially covering my face softened further by delicate wisps.

You may or may not have heard already that Belleza has announced a retirement sale on a significant number of mens and womens skins in preparation for some big changes coming soon. The skins on sale are , of course the older releases, but there is a lot to choose from. Look for the Retirement Sale signs on the main poster for each skin. One single skin costs 100L, a line costs 300L and a fatpack is only 800L.

I invited Darius to join me for the photos tonight partially to show off this gorgeous gown from Maai. This is not a new release but look how gorgeous it is, perfectly fitted mesh to hug  your curves  ending in a froth of skirts. The photo below shows off the wonderful materials aspect of this gown , I used CalWL as my lighting .

I used a pose that I had picked up at terra designs, I had wandered in to check out some newly released poses and find a shelf with free poses and 1L poses. For the photos tonight I have used the same pose and just turned it to suit, one thing that surprised me was that rather than poseballs ( the usual pink and blue) this pose came in a box, you both sat on it and voila ready to go. You can touch the box to get a menu to show, hide , swap or adjust the pose, this was a fantastic way as I found it much easier to adjust than trying to find a little poseball , tricky when in a ball gown anyway.

Skin sale at AMD

Moonlit magic

This month saw the arrival of a new SL shopping event The Fantasy Collective, with a range of items and gachas there is likely to be something to catch your eye, like this stunning dress from Peqe. In a range of colours it has an alpha to hide what needs to be hidden as it shows a lot of cleavage and thigh.. love how it fits!

Another great item I picked up was a cute short necklace from OAL in a gacha machine, I was lucky enough to “hit the jackpot” and win the rare on my first try so I received a hud with multiple colour options for the pearls.

While you’re looking at the close up I should mention this skin, it’s one of several I picked up at a current sale at Apple May Designs, where skins and shapes are marked down to 75L .. but only for a few more days. I aim to do another post tomorrow showing you some pictures of a small sample of the range available.

Now I must mention my feet as I slipped into yet another Shoetopia buy ( no doing the sums now!), this time a lovely  gladiator style sandal for Slink flat feet. Now if you look really close in the picture above you will see the line from where the feet join my legs. I didn’t remember to buy the appliers when I was shopping in AMD so I decided to try my hand at tinting myself using the omnihud provided with Slink feet. It’s not a perfect match but it’s pretty close, I was using judgement rather than RGB information. When I cropped this photo I decided to leave the line rather than soften or merge it just to show you that a close match can be achieved even without an applier, though I am hugely grateful that so many skin creators make these available.
