Tropical heat

The final day of the MWFW is coming to an end, with an action packed event full of runway shows and sales it’s time for everyone to kick of their shoes and dance the night away.  However there’s still time to show a couple last items ( once the event is closed you are going to have to hunt them down in stores) .

Wearing a dark tone of the Giovanni skin, which I have shown throughout my posts as to be honest I couldn’t resist. Ever since I saw the first “teaser” photo on Facebook – I guess you could say it was love at first sight.

My first outfit is a bright, casual outfit from Vero Modero, and I paired this with a vibrant hibiscus flower from NSP. NSP and its sister store [Muse] are relocating and owner Norena Soir has a wall of items at reduced prices. This hibiscus was intended to be worn tucked into your hair, but a little rearranging and it looks great on a lapel.

With both outfits I am showing today I added the newly released sets from EMO-tions, head to the mainstore to grab these great multi piece sets.

 

The second outfit I am showing is one from Bravura, the Gents Elegance Suit is available in a range of colors, but I opted for the dark Midnight. There’s something so sexy about a man in a well cut suit, this one blends the sharp crisp tailoring of formal attire but gives it a more relaxed feel.

The boutonniere I added is not part of the sale wall.. BUT it is part of the weekly sales at NSP , so go grab your choice of three wonderful colors. Oh and while there make sure you cast your eye over the other specials, I couldn’t resist picking up the Sari gown in lavender !

Property for sale, nice neighbourhood

I had such a fun time exploring  Havenhollow Returns that I decided to return. My friend Leya had passed me this great pumpkin orange dress with the 3/4 sleeves and swinging skirt of the 50’s so I styled to match and returned to the scene of the crime so to speak. After checking on a few of the neighbors to make sure they had their trick or treat surprises ready I noticed there was a property for sale not so far from the park. Whilst I stopped to note the details I made a new friend.

No not the gentleman in the hat he is one of the residents of Havenhollow- I wonder what he did wrong to be kept on the porch for so long. But maybe I will talk him into making an appearance on my blog some time. Meanwhile I will leave you the SLurl and remind  you that there are two parts to this Halloween experience, first part is the trick or treats from the houses in the street. For the second part your adventure begins as you wander into the dark tunnel on the edge of town, make sure you are wearing your hud and agreed to let you teleport you, as that is how you move from spooky room to even spookier hallway. But I won’t spoil the surprise, grab some friends and have some spooky Halloween fun. If you make your way out successfully you can claim some prizes.

Cherry- oh baby

Time to take care of that sweet tooth by bringing together some more of the great items you can find at The Candy Fair. For example this great big Sucker, which we would call a lolipop, this is part of a pose set from RIDIC . As well as the giant sized sucker the set includes two smaller ones and a variety of poses with mirrors. RIDIC is a new to me store but I like what I see, I bought another of their poses then requested a blogger pack so you will definitely be seeing a couple more of their items.

 

Next up some treats for your feet, and mine, in the Spin, spin sugar pumps, these swirly candy coloured and deliciously glossy shoes come in a range of swirled combinations- red/white, red/black, orange/white, orange/black, pink/white, pink/black, purple/white, purple/black, teal/white, teal black and white/black. Talk about being like a kid in a candy shop, take a look at those cute candy buttons on the side! Oh I must mention that although I am wearing this with Slink medium feet the pack does also include an unrigged version- my advice stop drooling and grab a pair or avoid the difficult decision and buy the fatpack .

Two more little Candy Fair samples, first up polish from Storybook, there is a lot of candy themed polish to be found at the fair, understandably. I couldn’t pass up this set with its swirly goodness -even before I fell in love with the Lassitude & Ennui Shoes. Speaking of L&E make sure you head to their store at Candy Fair because not only do they have some wonderful exclusive shoes but they have a couple of ‘freebies’ there including this stacked pearl necklace. This includes different coloured versions – what a generous gift.

 

Now some sweetness at the just opened round of Collabor88. Pixicat packs a lot of WOW factor into their vintage styled lingerie.. look at the tiny little waist! The fit is perfect, the fabric choice, details like the ruffles and bows just so cute. Paired with Glam Affair’s Sia, I chose a muted palette this time and added some extra pop with  bold red tresses from Tableau Vivant. I’m loving their new hud options by the way. You did what?

See it’s like this, Darius asked me to meet him in one of the streets outside a club, so I dressed up thinking we were going dancing. But when I showed up I found out he had something different planned.

He wanted to show off a new car ! He wanted me to watch as he raced around the track . To stand in the dark on my own and watch.. well I had different ideas. I admired the paintwork and smooth lines of his new vehicle. Then asked if I could sit in it.

When he nodded I quickly opened the driver’s door and slipped inside. He seemed amused at first then surprised when I started it up smoothly and listened to it purr.

Without hesitation I slammed the door and pulled away leaving Darius staring at me race away.

Lucky for him I only took it around the block before stopping beside him and letting him show off all of the features.

I must admit I am not much of a driver in SL, the combination of lag and my tendency to over correct my steering has led to some funny results. BUT this car is fun to drive. The box comes with two versions a smaller more compact one and this the large, there are instructions in how to use it and the hud to help you activate lights and monitor your speed.

Because I created a scenario for stealing Darius car that focused on it being a night time prank I then switched the windlight setting so you can see my skin and clothing better for the last picture.

I absolutely adore the croc texturing on these Slink compatible shoes that almost look like boots, you can pick them up at The Instruments event, available in several different colours. Continuing in reptile print I had picked up this daring open sided dress in snake pattern from the current round of Fi* Friday, a great place to head for bargains as everything is priced at 55L for that week.

Dinner for two.. where are you?

I wandered around SL a little seeking out a lovely dinner spot and came across this outdoor seating area at the Brunel Hall Hotel and Restaurant ( I will include a SLurl below details). It is set in a steampunk environment and has quite a classic rich feel to the furnishings. I played a little with the lighting to get a late in the say warmth with soft shadows. As an unexpected birthday combined rezz day gift my friend Vicky gifted me the LumiPro hud, I am still getting used to the different settings and will need to gain some knowledge about how to use the different buttons. But already I am appreciating the ability to add a subtle lighting useful to highlight my face and shoulders without overpowering the environment.

 

Although my hairstyle does hide my earrings better than I would like for this shot I really like the lustrous glow of the pearls and the shine to the gold and coral beads. The Madrid set is a recent release at Zuri Rayna Jewelry and as per usual group members wearing their tag get a 25% discount when purchasing this from the single vendors on the first floor. And now some details

Darius wears the same Belleza skin as before but swapped his clothes to show off a few more items you can pick up at The Fantasy Gacha Carnival. The end of the month draws close but you have a little more time to sneak over and play the machines a few more times while they’re all in one location still. I should mention that his boots are from a gacha machine but not from FGC , check details below to find out where you can pick up these boots, available for female or male.

 

I love the texture of this classic black gown, the leather is so tightly fitted that it causes wrinkles in the gown. The lines are softened by flowing fabric add-ons that move as you move, you can pick up this gown from the Dominatrix range by heading into the Maai mainstore and going to the second floor for leather and latex gowns. Definitely something to check out next time you are looking for a formal gown that makes a statement.

 

My beautiful Belleza skin comes with this gorgeous dark red lipstick which was the perfect match for the deeper red rubies of the Isabella jewelry. Now I know with a floor length gown shoes aren’t always noticeable, but when you wearing the perfect.. omg drop dead sexy shoes, just like these ones, you really want to show them off. These super high laced stilettos for wearing with Slink high feet are available at Carrie’s Lingerie, they were recently released to accompany Betsy a lacy and laced lingerie which is to be the focus of my next post. Before I drop down to the details I want to quickly mention the backdrop for this photo. When I went to explore Seelie Court I noticed there is also a large castle closeby, there are some small stores tucked into rooms and towers but these are separate from the Seelie Court event. As I looked around I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful setting so I cammed around and snapped some shots including one inside a room with stained glass windows and the stone lion on the wall. I decided to use it in my studio allowing me to rezz in the throne and take pictures without disturbing the inhabitants of the castle – I believe it is a RP area.

Ice , ice..maybe

I am sure most people with internet access have seen multiple videos of the ALS ice bucket challenge. Even more so once celebrities got on board and started tagging each other via facebook. Then it hit SL.. and of course my friend Vicky Coronet tagged me. Now all I can say is thank goodness it is in SL, in RL it’s a cool winter morning here and I am not touching ice if I can avoid.

But in SL it’s easier to get a bucketful of ice and dive into the challenge.

Brrrr, even just looking at that makes me feel cold.

Now that you have read this consider yourself challenged, unless you have already done this chilly challenge. It is up to you whether you do this in SL or RL, but it would be great to see some SL photos, perhaps paste photo links ( blog, flickr, fb) in comments. Keep spreading the word ! If you don’t know about ALS- which I didn’t,  this is the perfect time to google it and find out more, meanwhile for those who are thinking this challenge is just a pointless social media craze, consider how many people are now learning about this neuro-muscular disease who had never heard of it before. Knowledge is the first step to making a difference.

Another glorious summer day, time to head to the beach. Got my floppy hat, cute flirty skirt, grabbed a fun radio and slipped on my sandals. Ahh I see a sign, I must be in the right place.

What a wonderful co-incidence Darius is here too, I slipped on a cute little dress and we headed to the beachside cafe for lunch.

We spent the afternoon switching between swimming and lazing about the beach in these great hammock swing chairs.

As the sun starts to set I slip on a little black dress and heels, I’m meeting Darius and a group of our friends in town for dinner. Time to shake the sand off my feet and dance the night away!

Oh my Maai

 

Oh my Maai- have I got some news for you! I am very excited to have been accepted into the blogger group for the store Maai. If you haven’t been to this fantastic store filled with wonderful women’s clothing you really should do so soon, like right now then you too can be perfectly dressed for any occasion this summer. This store has gowns, wedding gowns, lingerie, swimwear , separates and even some Slink compatible shoes and nail polishes.

In my pictures today I have selected to share some of the summer separates, cute practical shorts, tops and long pants that can be mixed with new or old items easily. Take for example the Finy shorts above, perfectly fitting cuffed shorts that are casual yet with a slightly tailored look to them with the attention to the pockets and subtle pleats. I decided to pair these with one of the sexy cropped striped Dolina shirts, this combination gives a bared midriff while keeping your shoulders safe from sunburn.

If the weather is a little cooler in the evening you may want to slip into some longer pants, and these slim fitting pants called Toot are in a delicious soft green. I topped these with a white Vedrana shirt showing how a perfect fitting white shirt complements any item. When I first saw Truth’s new release Malibu with its bow/ headband I turned away thinking, cute but not for me. Then when I returned after trying on the demo for Lara Hurley’s Fae skin ( which yes I bought and am wearing ) I tried on the demo of Malibu and looked at the hud. I really like the gentle waves in this hairstyle , and the fact that there are 2 versions included ( plus mesh breast compatible versions) AND it is at a slightly reduced price, well how could I resist after that. Overall a cuter style than my usual but I like it, just right for a carefree playful fun day that I never want to see end.

I love those long lazy days of summer, preferably spent at the beach with  friends and family . I took these pictures at the Crossing Currents sim which was recommended to me by another blogger, this tropical paradise feels like a real island getaway. With these great clothes and idyllic setting I was able to enjoy my SL summer, whilst dreaming of those warm months that are still so far away for me in RL.
